Pandjiris^® Universal and Longitudinal Planishers

Pandjiris^® Planishers are designed to quickly finish weld joints, having reinforcement, which would otherwise require grinding or some other finishing process. The planisher offers a mechanical finishing process utilizing a pressurized roller system to compress the weld reinforcement of a metal fabrication. The typical part geometries suitable for planishing operations may include cylinders, squares, domes and other parts that are physically capable of being placed in the machine.

The planisher uses a set of fixed precision rolls placed above and below the weld joint and compressed together using an air-over-oil hydraulic system. The top roll is attached to a drive motor which moves the part as a constant and controlled rate. The lower drive roll is supported by a cantilevered support mandrel. As the weld joint passes between the fixed rolls, the preset force will compress the weld reinforcement flush with the base material. The drive rolls can be contoured to suit almost any application.
